Very popular—good everyday coffee spot with a steady local crowd.

    The French Guy Café-
More bakery than café, but worth it for coffee + pastries—especially if you want something different.

    Eliz Coffee Shop
Right in the centre—simple, reliable, and easy to stop by when you’re walking through town.

    ☕top takeaway Coffee tip

If you just want a quick, cheap coffee, there are two surprisingly good options:

    • The coffee machine inside Billa does a genuinely solid coffee for the price
    • The takeaway coffee from Aldo Supermarket (opposite Penguins Bar on Neyden Gerov Street) is also a great shout

Both are much cheaper than cafés and perfect if you just need something quick on the go.

For most things, you’ll end up going between Billa and Lidl in Razlog.

Billa has a wider selection and more imported goods

Lidl is cheaper and great for everyday basics

    Bansko Sunday Market

One of the best ways to experience real local life in Bansko is the Sunday market—it’s a weekly ritual for both locals and long-term visitors.

There are actually two markets happening at the same time:

🥬 Farmers’ Market (the main one)

Held near the town centre/old town, this is where local farmers and villagers come to sell their produce.

    You’ll find:

    • Fresh fruit & vegetables (seasonal and really good quality)
    • Cheese, yoghurt, eggs
    • Honey, jams, herbs
    • Homemade food and traditional products

It’s the kind of place where you’ll see local баби (grandmas) selling things they’ve grown themselves. Prices are good, and the quality is often better than supermarkets.

👉 Tip: Go early (7–9am) for the best selection—by midday, a lot of the good stuff is gone.

    🧺 Flea Market (just nearby)

A short walk away (near the park), there’s a second market with more random stuff:

    • Clothes, shoes, and household items
    • Antiques and second-hand finds
    • Local crafts and souvenirs

It’s more of a browse-and-wander vibe, and worth checking after the food market.⏰ When & Where

    • Every Sunday
    • Roughly 7:00am – 2:00pm
    • Around the town centre / old town area
